A nineteenth century, French, oval copper gratin dish. This is made from a substantial gauge of copper and it has a rolled rim. There is a folding, brass ring handle to one end and a copper one to the other. It dates from c.1880. It is in excellent condition and the interior has been re-tinned so that it can be used. This type of dish is ideal for dauphinoise potatoes, or a vegetable gratin, and can be taken straight from the oven to the table.
