A nineteenth century, amber glass wine ewer with silver plated fittings. This stylish decanter has a hinged cover, with a shell shaped thumb plate, and an internal cork stopper with a ball shaped finial. At some point the cork has been replaced and reduced. The decanter dates from c.1840 and is in excellent condition.
