A nineteenth century, copper jelly mould. This is stamped with the orb and cross symbol used by Benham’s above the pattern number ’404’. To the opposite side is a workman’s mark in the shape of a radiating sun. It is made from a substantial gauge of copper and it dates from c.1880. The design consists of eight fluted columns with rounded tops. It is in very good condition with just a couple of very minor dents to the columns. The tinning, to the interior, is still good enough for the mould to be used.
