Two Part Copper Nougat or Ice Mould

SOLD

Code: J21672

A nineteenth century, French copper, two part nougat or ice mould. This is marked “TROTTIER FNT PARIS”, within a circle, on both parts. Trottier were one of the leading French manufacturers of copperware in the 19th century and much of the batterie de cuisine for St. James’s Palace in London was provided by them. This type of mould was used for producing a table centrepiece from either ice or nougat which would have them been filled with small ice creams, in the form of fruits or flowers, which were formed  in pewter moulds. For a selection of these look in our category for pewter moulds.

This mould dates from c.1890 and the copper has a slightly planished finish. It is in very good condition but there is barely any of the  tinning left so it would need to be re-tinned before use.

Dimensions overall when the two parts are together: Height 11.5cm. Length 24cm. Width 12.6cm.

Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £20. Most of Western Europe add £10
