A super quality, French copper grain measure. This is beautifully made, from a very heavy gauge of copper. It has castellated seams but they can only be seen on the interior as they are concealed by the vertical banding on the outside. This type of measure were made, in various sizes, to resemble drums and this is a particularly good example. It dates from c.1860 and is in excellent condition.
