A Victorian, carved sycamore breadboard. The border to this board is carved with the motto “Speed the Plough”, ivy leaves and ears of wheat. The carving would originally have been very deep but it is now beautifully worn with age and use. There are a couple of small chips to the rim, which can be seen in the image, but otherwise it is in good condition and the wood has a lovely, honey coloured patina.
